Personal Identity

This project focused on developing my personal brand identity through a cohesive visual system. I designed a logo, letterhead, and business cards that felt professional as well as an authentic representation of myself as a person and designer.

Development of initial designs

I began this project by building a moodboard and sketching initial concepts in Procreate. I explored different layout structures and statement visuals until I landed on these two ideas. Once I refined the strongest ideas, I moved into Adobe InDesign to begin structuring the full identity system.

Design 1

Typeface family: Helvetica

The front card design was created in Procreate and exported as a PNG, while the overall layout system was built in Adobe InDesign.

Design 2

Typeface family: Articulat

The visual element was created in Adobe Illustrator and then brought into Adobe InDesign for layout development.

Development of Idea 3

While I enjoyed aspects of the first two designs, I wanted something more, so I returned to sketching to explore a third idea. This time, I focused on creating a monogram that incorporated a bird in flight, a symbol that felt personal and distinctive. Through sketching, I landed on this mark. I then converted the monogram sketch into a vector logo in Illustrator and brought it into InDesign to begin building the system.

Draft 1

Typeface family: Mrs. Eaves

For the first draft of this design, I used Mrs. Eaves with a centered layout on the business card to create a more classic and refined feel. I intentionally avoided repeating elements from the initial concepts in order to fully explore a new visual direction.

Draft 2

After refining the system, I reintroduced Helvetica from my first design, valuing its simplicity and balance. The combination resulted in a final identity that feels both personal and professional.
